Admissions Standards
Students must have met the admissions requirements of Adam Smith University and have submitted proof of eligibility for enrollment before completing 9 credit hours of study at Adam Smith University in order to receive credit for studies. The student’s account will be placed on a HOLD status if one of the qualifying documents has not been received by the completion of 9 credit hours. Eligibility requirements, including high school completion or qualifying exam scores, must be received on official transcripts.
In order for Adam Smith University to recognize and accept the documentation:
- Students must completely fill out and send the appropriate Transcript Request Form to their college, high school, or the state office that granted the qualifying credential (such as a high school diploma, GED, etc.) or to the examination provider that administered the qualifying exam (CXC, GCE, etc.). The college, high school, or examining body may charge a fee for sending official transcripts to Adam Smith University. Students should send any fees along with the Transcript Request Form directly to the organization from which they are requesting the official transcripts.
- Students should include their former name on the Transcript Request Form if the student name has changed since graduation. Students who have legally changed their name, through marriage or otherwise, should be sure to include on the Transcript Request Form all names previously used.
- International transcripts/diplomas, that are not in English, must be translated into English and have received a Statement on Recognition from the ACTT or be evaluated as equivalent by the ACTT. To receive recognition, the student should submit an Application for Equivalence Assessment or Recognition, directly with the ACTT and pay any applicable fees.
